Ever since I started my spiritual journey, I find it challenging to watch the typical soap opera. There’s just way too much drama. Can you relate? Now, don’t get me wrong, I still find myself enjoying some real good thriller, action, romance and comedy from time to time. For the most part, I crave for something more soul-nourishing, just like what these movies got to offer!
I’ve put together my top 5 favorite spiritual &/ healing movies below! Ready?
1. The Celestine Prophecy
Ever heard of “everything is energy?” This movie shows you exactly that. It visually depicts energy in a way I’ve not seen before. My favorite part is when they show what the flow of energy looks like, especially when one person is trying to take energy from the other and vice versa. It really is mind-blowing! Watch it to learn about all the 9 insights the prophecy brings!
2. The Shift
I found this movie at a time when I was feeling lost and empty. I was still working in my 9-5 that I hated and this movie definitely has left an impact on me. It’s one of those movies that really got me started thinking about my life purpose, and hence bringing me….the shift.
3. Wood Job! The Easy Life in Kamusari
Unlike the 1st two, this one is lighthearted while carrying depth. That’s the magic of Japanese movie. It follows a young chap who went to deep forestry in mountain to learn about wood work. In the process, he learnt about the beauty of planting seeds, reaping harvest while learning about power of community. My best part? Seeing a bunch of men doing a ceremonial work. Now, that’s something we don’t often see, don’t we? I really love this one a lot, my heart become so full after watching this!
4. Soul
This is a great Pixar movie that makes us think what it means to be a “soul”, hence the name. Like, why are we here? What are we meant to do? What’s our thing? These are some of the concepts being explored here. Best part? All those cute animations! It’s definitely worth a watch, whether you’re here for the cuteness or for the woo-ness.
5. Wish
Starseed, you gonna love this one, seriously. I mean…the star is really so cute, I died! Plus, this one really shows us what collective spiritual awakening look like, Disney style. It’s a great reminder for us to not give our power away, stay true our heart desire and remember why we are here. This is a must-watch!
